Nino Karumidze was born in 1968 in Tbilisi, the capitai of the Georgian Republic ( former Soviet Union ), and she studied painting, architectual art and monument art at Georgia National University of the Arts. In 1993, while she was in the graduate course of this university, she had her first one-person exhibition at "Tea Hose" followed by others at "Galerie Orient" in 1994 and "Rustaveli Theater" in 1995. Her innovative solo exhibition at the Georgia National Music Center in 1995 was a great success, and by the time she held another exhibition at "Galerie Karvasia" in 1996/97, her talent as a painter had become widely known in Europe. May in 1998 her exhibition at "Galerie Hyparts" in Vienna, her first one abroad, was crowned with sensational success, and sales contracts for all the pieces were signed by the end of the first day. Since June 1998, Mrs.Karumidze has been living in Kawachi-Nagano City, Osaka,JAPAN, with her two children and husband, Mr Zaza Gogua, the head violist of the Osaka Symphoniker.He expects her to have much activity in the future.
