- Tableware is made from plastic, which looks like ceramic.
- Pupils can play freely after eating.
Impression:
When sitting by the window in Sweden, the greenery and snow outside were very beautiful, and it made my lunch even much delicious.
Potatoes were the staple and I ate them everyday.

Japan
- Everyone wears the same clothes.
- Clothes are changed in the classroom.
Uppsala
- Any clothes that allow free movement are acceptable.
- Clothes are changed in a separate changing room for boys and girls,
and pupils take a shower after gym class.
Impression:
Pupils in Sweden did not line up according to height.
Pupils lined up as they came, and then ran.
8. Going to School
My school in Japan
- Pupils walk to school.
- Bicycles are prohibited.
Elementary school in Uppsala
- Pupils come with their mother or father.
- Many pupils come to school with their father.
- Pupils cannot go home unless a parent is informed.
Impression:
Fathers in Sweden dropped their children off in the morning with long kisses and hugs. My father never came with me.
