1. Introduction
I stayed at "Uppsala"city in Sweden from Oct.1994 to Aug.1995. During this period, I went to " Kvangärdes" elementary school for six months. I enjoyed myself so much that I almost felt like not going back to Japan.
This summer I went to the school to meet my teacher and friends.
I compared Japanese elementary school with Swedish elementary school.

2. Number of teachers and students per class
My school in Japan
Elementary school in Uppsala
40 students
26 students
1 teacher
2 teachers
Impression:
A Swedish class was very enjoyable with two teachers always attending.
3. Teachers
Japan
- Called "Kanzaki sensei" ( Sensei means a teacher )
Uppsala
- Called "Birgitta" or "Annica"
Impression:
In Sweden students addressed their teachers by their first name, as if addressing a friend. It sounded like "Bigitta" when Swedish people said "Birgitta."
